Myopia Control Lens for children
Myopia Control Lenses for Children (Peripheral Defocus Lenses)
Unlike standard single-vision lenses, myopia control glasses are designed to redirect peripheral light rays in front of the retina, preventing elongation of the eye.
Research Evidence:
A three-year study (2014, Australia & China) on 128 children (aged 8-13) found that those wearing myopia control lenses had significantly slower myopia progression (-1.01D to -1.25D) compared to those wearing regular glasses (-2.06D).
Additional Tips for Myopia Control:
- Outdoor Activities – Spending more time outdoors, especially in natural sunlight, can slow myopia progression
- Reduce Digital Screen Time – Limiting screen time on mobile phones, tablets, and computers helps prevent eye strain
